Leatrice was born May 3, 1926 at Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Wilford Royce & Effie Mono Paton Seamons; she was the youngest of seven children. In May 2005, Chester retired from farming and they moved to Logan, Utah.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many different callings. She taught Jr. Sunday School, Primary specifically the Sunbeams for over 20 years, served as stake Sunday School secretary, In Service Teacher, a Relief Society Teacher and secretary, sang in the Cornish Ward Choir, and was an active visiting teacher until this year.

She is survived by four of her five children: Brent (Sonja) Buttars of Smithfield, UT; Kim (Mary) Buttars of Palmdale, CA; Jane Buttars Pitcher of Preston, Idaho; Lisa (Larin) Lind of Logan, UT; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and two brothers: Ronald (Betty) Seamons and Blaine (Justine) Seamons.
