Obituary for Karen Ann Traini

It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Ann Olson Traini announce her passing after an extended illness on Tuesday October 23, 2018 at the age of 47. Karen was born May 21, 1971 in Pocatello, Idaho to Grant and Gail Olson. Karen grew up in Robin, Idaho graduating from Marsh Valley High School in 1989 and going on to earn a degree in Social Work from Utah State University. Karen served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Utah Provo Mission. Following her mission, she married in the Logan, Utah Temple and had three wonderful children; Alex, Madison and Brandon. Karen loved her children, and will be remembered as a dedicated and excellent mother. Karen lived in various locations including Salt Lake City, Utah, Pocatello, Idaho, Palmer, Alaska and Logan, Utah. She made the world a better place everywhere she lived. When Karen was 18 she was diagnosed with several illnesses that would eventually take her life. While her original life expectancy was very short, Karen refused to let anything stop her, and was able to prolong her life several decades. Karen always wanted to be a mother, and her attention to her medical care and persistent positive attitude allowed her to have and raise a family. Her children were a great blessing, and took dedicated care of their Mother in the last years of her life.

Karen loved to quilt and she enjoyed making quilts for family and friends. She eventually created a small quilting business that she was very proud of. Karen was a kind and loving soul and is remembered for her generosity, dedication, enthusiasm and good humor. She was a friend to all she met and will be greatly missed.

Karen is survived by her three children, Alex, Madison and Brandon Traini, her parents, Grant and Gail Olson, her four siblings, Laura (Owen) Israelsen, Kristine (Bob) Beelek, David (Kayleen) Olson, Jennifer (Paul) Edwards, and all her nieces and nephews who will tell you she truly is the fun one.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Nyman Funeral Home 753 South 100 East Logan, Utah at Noon. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10:30-11:30am at the same location. Interment will be at the Robin, Idaho Cemetery.
