Obituary for Harry Smith Mathews

Harold (Harry) Smith Mathews passed in peace on January 20th, 2019, in Grantsville, Utah at the age of 72. Harry was born on May 17th, 1946, in Logan, Utah to LeGrand and Zeltha Mathews. Harry married Corinne Porter and had four children however, later divorced. As a boy Harry worked on a family farm in Millville. After attending South Cashe High School, he enjoyed many years as a truck driver and diesel mechanic. After retiring from Ray Bethers he spent his winters mining for gold and his summers at the Mathews family property in Blacksmith Fork Canyon with his family and friends around the campfire. He also had many hobbies including: playing poker, reading westerns, riding ATV and anything outdoors.

He was survived by his son, Travis Mathews (Rebecca) of Willard, Utah, daughter, Debbie Casper (Paul) of Henderson, Nevada, daughter Rochelle Ashby (Brandon) of Grantsville, Utah, and many loving grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harry would do anything for anyone and was loved by all. Proceeded in death by his daughter Wendy Mathews, sister Rhonda Parker and parents LeGrand and Zeltha Mathews.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm Friday, January 25 at Nyman Funeral Home, 753 South 100 ast Logan, Utah
