Lonnie Nyman President/Owner Lonnie@nymanfh.com

Lonnie is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.  Lonnie was born and raised in Providence, Utah.  He attended schools in the valley and graduated from Mountain Crest High School.  He served a LDS Mission in the Minneapolis, Minnesota Hmong speaking mission.  Lonnie attended Utah State University, he later received a degree in Funeral Services from St. Petersburg College in Florida. Lonnie has worked at some of the best  funeral homes here in the state.   Lonnie has worked in numerous positions in the past that have helped him become the person he is today from banking to food service to finally opening a funeral home which has been a goal of his for numerous years.  Lonnie loves to hunt and fish and play golf in his spare time.  He enjoys watching his kids in all their sporting events from football, soccer, baseball, and basketball. Lonnie loves living in Cache Valley and calling it his home for over forty years.  Lonnie’s biggest joy and proudest accomplishments in his life are his beautiful wife, Jerrilyn and their five sons and one daughter.   He loves spending time with them and proud to have them as his family.

Jerrilyn Nyman grew up in Burley, Idaho where she was the fifth of eight children. She graduated from Burley High School. Jerrilyn worked in banking just out of high school. She went on to own a bakery with her mother, Soni for four years, where they were known for some of the best treats in Burley. She was also featured in "Top Forty Under Forty In Business" in Southern Idaho.  She then worked in the radio business for over six years doing traffic and sales for both Lee Family Broadcasting and Cache Valley Radio Group.  She has served in numerous callings in her church from Primary to Young Women’s. Jerrilyn has also enjoyed being a stay at home mom for the last five years. Jerrilyn loves being a home maker. She loves watching her kids grow up and being able to support them in all that they do. She loves spending time with her husband, Lonnie and their six kids.

Kent was born and raised in Cache Valley, and has lived in Cache Valley for sixty-seven years. He attended Providence Elementary, South Cache High School, and graduated from Sky View High School. In his younger years Kent loved to play softball. He retired from Hill Air Force as an Air Craft mechanic and Logan Manufacturing Co. in Quality Control. He loves to spend time with his wife, Carol, four children, twenty-one grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He spends a lot of time hunting, fishing, camping and riding ATVs. Another love of his, is western music and people. He has been a square dance caller for the past thirty years and has traveled and called Square Dances around the world. Kent loves serving the people and families of Cache Valley.

Carol J. Nyman Genealogy Specialist/ Funeral Assistant Carol@nymanfh.com

Carol was born and raised in Oakley, Idaho. She married and has lived in Cache valley for forty-five years. She worked for the United States Postal Service for seventeen years. After raising her children, she went back to school and received her Bachelors of General Studies degree from Brigham Young University in the autumn of 2010. Her emphasis was Family History and research in Great Britain. She has taught Scottish Research at the Logan Family Search Center. She has done private research in the British area for the public, and has worked in the History department for International Society of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Carol now holds the position as the Historian for the South Company for the Cache Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and the town Historian for Providence City. She also serves on the Historical Preservation Commission for Providence. Carol is also a family history consultant for her ward and is currently teaching classes. Her greatest love is her husband, four children, twenty-one grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Trevor was born in Cache Valley, and has lived there his entire life. He attended Providence Elementary, Springcreek Middle School, South Cache, and graduated from Mountain Crest High School. He is married to Julie Wilkinson, of Mountain Green, and is the father of five children. He has a great love for sports, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and camping. Currently, he is studying to be a funeral director, and is working on an insurance license. Trevor has a great love for Cache Valley, and enjoys serving the public.

Caleb Nyman Funeral Assistant

Caleb was born in Salt Lake and is the first of three boys. He grew up in Oakley, in Southern Idaho. He graduated from Oakley High School where he lettered in football, basketball, and cheer. During his senior year he was the football team captain and a first team all-conference offensive and defensive player.  In high school he also served on the Seminary Council and in the FFA Presidency. He was very active in the FFA and 4-H programs, where he bred and showed pigs.

He currently works as a funeral assistant while he’s attending Utah State University, where he will receive his associate degree. He’ll then continue his education at St. Petersburg College, in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he’ll obtain his bachelors in Mortuary Science. After completing his degree, he will be returning to Cache Valley to help is father with the business as a licensed funeral director. When he’s not busy with school or work he enjoys time with family and friends and likes to be active in the outdoors whether its skiing, fishing, hunting, or just out hiking.

Troy Lamb was born and raised in Arizona and also spent time living in Oregon, Utah, Iowa, Tennessee and Oklahoma.  Because of these experiences, he loves to meet new people and visit new places.  Troy returned to Utah and graduated from North Sanpete High School in Mount Pleasant.  He accepted an Academic Scholarship to graduate from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah with an Associate of Art Degree.  Troy decided to postpone his education by serving a 2 year volunteer service mission to Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.  Upon returning stateside, he then continued his education at Utah State University and graduated with a dual Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences and Spanish. Troy has a passion for providing service and enjoys assisting others with their financial and temporal needs. He has been employed in the Human and Financial Services Industries in Cache Valley for 20 years. 

 

Troy currently resides in Smithfield, Utah and is married to Wendee Hansen from Providence, Utah.  Together they have 6 wonderful children.  When Troy is not busy meeting with clients, he may be found on a soccer field, volunteering at a church activity, repairing vehicles in the garage, or in the outdoors enjoying some camping, hiking, fishing and hunting.

Josh Myers is a life- long resident of Cache Valley.  Josh was raised in Hyrum, Utah where he and His Wife now reside. He attended Millville Elementary, South Cache Middle School and Mountain Crest High School.  He is the Father of three daughters, Madysen, Emily and Kaitlyn and has been married to Amber Johnson Myers of Hyrum, Utah for 19 years.  Josh loves spending time with his family, going fishing, going to see musicals and supporting his girls in all they are involved in.  He is actively involved in in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is an Advisor for the Hyrum City Youth Council.  Josh is working on his insurance license and will soon start his degree in becoming a Funeral Director.  Josh loves serving and working with the community in which he grew up in.

Janine Rodgers Pre-need Counselor and Family Service Specialist

Janine was born in Salt Lake City, the second of seven children. When she was young, her family made the move to her father’s hometown of Fillmore, UT, where she grew up. She is a graduate of Millard High School. In 1991 she graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Liberal Arts and a minor in Business Management. While at Utah State, she enjoyed life in Cache Valley and decided to stay and make it home. She and her family lived in Hyrum for nine years. During that time she worked at Logan Regional Hospital in Patient Account Services.

In 2003 her husband received his Ph.D. from Utah State and after graduation, his job took their family to Philadelphia for five years, then to New England for eight years. In 2016 her husband passed away unexpectedly.  After his passing, she decided to come back to Cache Valley to finish raising her children. She and her family now reside in Providence.  Her greatest love are her five children. She has two married children, three teenagers that attend Ridgeline High School, and three grand-daughters. She loves spending time in the outdoors with her family, attending her children’s activities, serving at church, and being involved in community activities. She is happy to be back in Cache Valley among old friends and acquaintances and happy to be serving her community.

Soni Shaw Funeral Assistant

Soni Shaw was raised in Burley, Idaho.  After graduating from High School she attended Ricks College where she met her husband Harry.  Soni and Harry have eight children.  She served in many positions in the church.  Relief Society President, Stake Young Women President, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and many others.  She taught early morning, and released time Seminary for ten years.  She then opened a bakery-restaurant with her daughter Jerrilyn for four years.   Soni adores her family and loves spending time with her grandchildren. She loves reading and learning.  She and Harry currently serve in the Twin Falls Temple, and both teach Sunday School.

Harry Shaw Funeral Assistant

Harry Shaw was born and raised in Burley, Idaho.  He was raised on a farm and dairy with four sisters and two brothers.  He graduated from Burley High School and then attended Ricks College for one year before serving a two year mission in Northern California.  After his mission he went back to Ricks College where he met Soni Dunn, also from Burley.  They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They raised eight children, six sons and two daughters.  Harry has served in many positions in the church, including two bishoprics and also as a Bishop.   While Harry was Bishop, he was in a farm accident that resulted in the loss of his right arm.  He continued to dairy and serve in the church, never letting it slow him down.   He loves his family and  delights in the company of his grandchildren.
